Week in pictures: lucky streak!

I’m having a bit of a lucky streak this week, on Thursday my Zelda heart container cupcakes won 2nd prize in the valentines contest on Instructbles.com, then the next day I won tickets to Hospital Record’s Q+A+E. Yippee!! Other than that a quiet week for week in pictures, i even managed to go to a party last weekend and not take one picture, bad Holly!

I got the recipe from Laurens Recipe book. They were really easy to make and taste exactly like Millies cookies! I even made a wheat free version for one friend who dosen’t eat wheat, by substituting the self raising flour for gram flour and a quarter tsp of bicarbonate of soda. Next i’m going to try making the double chocolate ones mmmmmm

This is the latest cross stitch im working on, but its a little cryptic for now as its a birthday present and i don’t want to spoil the surprise!

Also putting a smile on my face this week: Parties / looking forward to Hospitality / Running outside for the first time since before christmas! / being jealous of Vicky’s tan / Random snow / Ikea trip / Fluffy-on-the-inside thermal tops

Week in pictures: Valentines

This weeks has been all about valentines, baking, making teeny little things, getting loads of stuff done, sorting the house out, having a great time with my girlfriends and generally having a lot of fun

Big Sooz gets all romantic for Valentines day

Now valentiens is usually a day i hate/ dont see the point of but for the first time ever i think i had a really nice one! I made Jonjo a little card and he got me a new Dreamcast so we spent the whole day playing that and eating yummy food Its great to be able to play Sonic Adventure again, i’ve got some batteries on order so i can power up my old VMU’s and raise some Chaos. Good times!

Made some chocolate rainbow cakes – its a great way to make friends when you start a new freelance job! I used my signature chocolate cake recipe (i posted this with my zelda cupcakes tutorial) and just scattered rainbow sprinkles onto the wet icing.

Saturday night started off as a quiet one but a couple too many tequilas prompted this classic Dr Robotnik impression from Vicky. She’s away on holiday for a week and dosen’t know i’ve put it online, mwa ha ha!

Other than that its been full speed ahead with ‘proper’ work and personal projects, a lot of it i cant post online yet. So heres some little doggies in the mean time

Christmas in Pictures

Hope you had a lovely Christmas break, mine has been wonderful, the best Christmas since i was a little girl. I’ve been busy seeing friends, family, doing fun stuff and lots of parties, gorgeous foods and drinkies. Very chilled and very awesome. Here’s a few pictures of what i’ve been up to over the holidays

Excuse my blurry panoramic picture i was just getting all romanitc and christmassy and loving how cosy and snug that flat was We spent Christmas eve with friends watching the latest Eddie Izzard DVD (the show we saw for my birthday) If you click to see the bigger version i’ve annotated it too.

So this is what our living room looked like over Christmas, its still looks like this but less presents under the tree I always leave it till the last possible minute to take the decorations down cos i like them so much! The glass in the foreground is egg nog, which I’ve never made before but now I’m fully converted, its lush!

Among the many tasty treats around, we made a couple of chocolate cakes – the rolly log kind. Mmm rolly log.

The week before Christmas we had crazy amounts of snow all of a sudden. As soon as there’s any snow in the UK the whole country goes mad, everyone was off work for a week and we had loads of fun playing in the snow before having a big Christmas roast dinner round Jez’s.

On Christmas eve i was working at my desk and i hear all these mad loud Christmas carols coming from outside, i peeped out and there was Santa! I ran out to take a picture but i was a bit late, and quite disappointed when i actually got out there to see some geezer in a fake white beard getting pulled along by a Ford Escort. ha ha!

And now its New Years eve! I thought I was all partied out after Christmas but now its rolled around i’m really excited about celebrating! The last year for me has been interesting to say the least, and i’m so happy to be going into 2010 happier, and healthier than i’ve ever been and with positive relationships with people i love so much. Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported me and A Little Stranger over the years- I literally couldnt have done it without you, and i’ve got lots of ideas for how the site will grow over the coming year.
