Red Polkadot Plush Dunny

After making the plain white DIY plush Dunnies i wanted to have a go at customising one. This little guys is 6″ tall and made up in a fine cotton polkadot fabric, with vintage lace embelishments on his tummy. I had been holding onto these little cameo buttons for a while and this just seemed like the perfect project for them, they give him a victorian-y/steam punk look. This is is a soft, squishy plush Dunny made from an original pattern by Holly Stanway, it’s not a vinyl custom

Plush Dunny’s

After all the work i did on my Applehead custom Dunny it really got me to thinking, what would Dunny look like in plush? so i made a couple! These guys are 6″ and 3″ respectively and made from off-white felt, in a DIY kinda stylee. These are soft, squishy plush Dunny’s made from original patterns by Holly Stanway, not vinyl customs

Applehead Custom 3″ Dunny

Here’s a few pictures of my custom 3″ Dunny, ‘Applehead’. Applehead began life a production Dunny, I started by stripping him and painting with a white cellulose primer, all the colour work was done in acrylics and sealed with matte lacquer, with the ‘apple’ being finished with layers of full gloss lacquer, with metallic and pearlescent powders mixed in so it has a lot of depth. I made the vines from wire and some already tiny fake leaves that i cut down further.

The base is a clear acrylic oval painted purple on the underside and polished around the edge. The foliage is varying grades of model makers grass/stones and soil, with long tufts of grass dotted around. His little mushroom friends were sculpted from fimo.

Week in Pictures: Wedding cake toppers

Phew its been a busy week! I’ve been a bit of a crazy computer lady the last couple of weeks while ive been getting the new alittlestranger.com up and working. Computer stuff dosent come that naturally to me so theres been a lot of me banging my head on my desk and making a grumpy face, but it looks like everything’s done now and i can get over myself!

I’ve been sitting on these photos for a while as i didn’t want to spoil the surprise for her husband-to-be Stephen, but i made these Wedding Cake Toppers for my friend Linda. I took these pictures before i sent them allll the way to Australia for the wedding so it’s great to see Lindas wedding photos of them on the cake on the big day! They had such a beautiful, unusual wedding – you need to go and check out the pictures, Lindas dress is to die for!

On Thursday it was the Kidrobot opening party. I came across this picture of us standing in the que here. I only took a couple of crappy blurry pictures of the que and then got so excited by all the toys I didn’t take pictures of anything else! We got a few free toys for our living room and had a good old chin wag with some of my arty pals. lovely!

Spotted this on the Triclops blog, the Glyos head sculpt i did for them a while back, looking forward to seeing what they’re gonna do with the little fellas. Love those colours!

Mondays Monster Business card holder instructable got featured and put on the main page, then on Tuesday it got listed as popular. I’ve got my thinking cap on for next Mondays instructable, what would you like to see?

On Friday night me and Jonjo made pizza from scratch for everyone, it was really fun to do. Ok i just made the sauce and he did all the hard work, but i did also put the salad into a bowl

I got a surprise present in the post from my friend Phil (of Phil Corbett Illustration) they’re going up on the wall as soon as i can find me some frames, eBay here i come…
