Pink Octopus necklace

Pink octopus necklace

I’m very excited to introduce my first jewellery collection! The Tentacle collection features original handmade jewellery inspired by my favorite sea dweller; the octopus. I love the texture and movement of tentacles flowing in the sea and i’ve tried to capture this in each piece. They are all hand painted with vibrant metallic and iridescent paints that shimmer and sparkle as you move. The collection is limited to 11 pieces; 3 large necklaces, 7 smaller necklaces and one pair of earrings.

Each piece is one of a kind and not to be repeated, entirely hand sculpted and totally unique – no molds were used or taken.

Edit – All pieces in the collection are sold out, thanks for everyone who bought one. To be the first to know when new pieces go on sale join the mailing list.

Monster Business Card Holder

This weeks instructable tells you how to make this furry monster business card case. Impress your clients, co workers and friends. Ok so its not the most grown-up business card holder in the world, but in my line of work that seems to work for me! Of course, he wont mind if you dont use him for business cards, you could use him for credit cards, oystercard or make one for your passport and enjoy being the coolest kid at the airport!

Finished the Mario cross stitch and hung it in the living room!
The Mario Cross Stitch :)

Mario Cross Stitch We have been making this for the living room, it took about 3 weeks all together, Jonjo did the sky and i did the everything else, ha! It was a lot of fun, i’ve never done a big cross stitch like this before, we used a huge needle and doubled over thread, so it’s got quite a 3D effect when you look at it up close. More pictures of the Mario Cross stitch here.

Introducing a totally new type of creature to my shop!

Introducing a totally new type of creature to my shop! This is the plush i showed some in-progress picture of a little while back, here. Unlike my other plushes who have cast resin faces and painted eyes this little guy has a hand-sculpted face with glass eyes. No molds or patterns were used in his creation so he will/cannot ever be produced again. He is for sale here. Edit: Sorry, he’s now sold.

Custom sepia bear

This custom has just been completed and shipped out to America, this was request to look like an old sepia photograph, so i cast the face in a slightly dulled creamy colour and picked creamy-toffee colour fabrics to match. Her body is made from a curly faux mohair with a dark backing so it really looks old. When she was complete i ‘aged’ her all over with an airbrush, i’m so pleased with how she came out!

New blue sleepy monster

I have been busy working my way through my list of custom orders, here are the latest  – this one is on her way to Italy! She was really fun to make, i loved picking out all the fabrics that tone together. Her body is made from super soft brushed jersey fabric like you’d use for baby clothes :)

Finished Octopus necklace

I’ve been wanting a big octopus necklace for forever, so i got busy making this little (or rather, big) guy! I sculpted him in polymer clay and  then painted him with lots of fine layers of metallic paints. He’s finished with a durable glossy laquer to really bring out the depths of the paints i used. I’m working on a couple more, and some smaller items that will be avaliable in time to buy as Christmas gifts :)

New Stuff

Heres my messy desk with what i’ve been up to lately on it! I’ve had a few days off work this week and ive spent my time working on custom orders, painting, going mental over the new Paramore album (Hayley Williams is my latest  all-consuming celebrity crush) and working on my own projects – Lots of messing around with polymer clay and experimenting with using glass eyes. I was unsure if they eyes would expand when i cooked them so this was a test, to see what happened. I tried this in the past with plastic eyes but they slightly melted and lost their shape, ew! I didnt think i’d use this face but i’ve ended up really liking him! I’ll finish him off next week. I’ve been experimenting with making polymer clay jewellery but i’ll share pictures when they’re a bit more finished.

Lottery

So my websites been acting up a little while i migrate from the old version of it’s software to the new. I have a bunch of stuff i want to blog about but the site seems to have a life of its own at the moment  and it decides wether it wants me to blog it or not, ha! So i thought lets have a lottery competition i can run for the next week or so and hopefully by then it’ll be back on track. Back in March i gave away three Jellyfish keyrings to three subcribers to my mailing list, chosen at random, and im going to do the same again except this time theres only one prize, this white jellyfluff!
