A Little Stranger

Gloomy Bear

This weeks Instructable shows you how to make this adorable Gloomy Bear necklace. I thought i’d take a break from sewing instructables this week and show you how to make something from polymer clay. Even if you’ve never sculpted anything before this Gloomy Bear pendant is really easy to make. Included is a template for various different sizes, He makes a great keyring or cell phone strap, too :)

Finished Octopus necklace

I’ve been wanting a big octopus necklace for forever, so i got busy making this little (or rather, big) guy! I sculpted him in polymer clay and  then painted him with lots of fine layers of metallic paints. He’s finished with a durable glossy laquer to really bring out the depths of the paints i used. I’m working on a couple more, and some smaller items that will be avaliable in time to buy as Christmas gifts :)

New Stuff

Heres my messy desk with what i’ve been up to lately on it! I’ve had a few days off work this week and ive spent my time working on custom orders, painting, going mental over the new Paramore album (Hayley Williams is my latest  all-consuming celebrity crush) and working on my own projects – Lots of messing around with polymer clay and experimenting with using glass eyes. I was unsure if they eyes would expand when i cooked them so this was a test, to see what happened. I tried this in the past with plastic eyes but they slightly melted and lost their shape, ew! I didnt think i’d use this face but i’ve ended up really liking him! I’ll finish him off next week. I’ve been experimenting with making polymer clay jewellery but i’ll share pictures when they’re a bit more finished.
