Hello! How are you on this lovely Friday? I’ve properly got the Friday feeling this morning - found out this morning that i am going to Hospitality next weekend (hip hip hooray! thanks Tony!) and today i’m off for a day of shopping and then to see Wicked with my sister, then heading for a friends birthday drinks after. So i’d better write this quick so i can get ready! Its Friday and you know what that means, Week in Pictures! How has this week been treating you? Mine has been good, a bit of working on secret projects, a lot of working overtime to get jobs done on time!
Moss Rabbit is my entry for the Toy2R Qeeology 2.5 show on May 7th. The show features custom 2.5″ Qee’s by 70 artists all over the world and im really happy to be taking part. Lots of pictures, including work-in-progress shots…
Monsters have to start somewhere! These monsters have just been hatched, and are ready to be adopted by you. Each is handmade by Chelsea in the Love and a Sandwich studio, USA. Now in the shop!
You can instantly spot the work Chelsea of Love And A Sandwich, her happy furry colourful monsters with BIG personalities will put an instant smile on your face! I have been seriously in love with this girls work since I traded a purple bear plush for her bunwich in 2008 and am now super duper excited to be selling her Monster Baby plushes through the A little Stranger shop.
How does it feel to make toys for a living? Feels great! haha. I do have to put in a lottt of hours and hard work for it to pay off money-wise, but I just remind myself that I’m doing something I love, and things could be worse! I definitely love the hours. I can sleep in and work late, which I love doing. This wasn’t really something I saw myself doing when I was doing art when I was younger, but it just sort of fell into place and works better for me than any other medium could. 
Wow! The weather in the UK has been unseasonably beeeeautiful this week, last weekend was an absolute scorcher so we made the most of it by having a super henching BBQ. Lot more fun times were had, onwards with the pictures!
He’s cute and he’s small, he’s Cavey! Coming soon to the shop, Cavey is a new toy design from A Little Stranger. He’s been a secret project of mine for a couple of months and now he’s just about ready to be released into the wild. Check out his website www.heycavey.com!
Here’s a little sneak peek of my custom for Toy2R‘s Qeeology 2.5 show, part of the Toy2R 15th Anniversary World Tour. I’ve been really inspired by vintage toys and facemoulds lately, my friend leant me an AMAZING book called Happy Bunny Kitty Pony (i need to buy myself a copy and quit hoggin’ hers!) and i’ve based this little guy on some of the cute/creepy bunnies in there. He’s a little further along than this now but i’ll post more pictures when he’s done – a girls got to have some secrets right? 
Yippee! Another great week of sunny weather and fun times here. I’ve been working on lots of secret project that i hope to reveal soon! I also released my first plush toy for a good few months, and he sold out in less than 12 hours which was just amazing, so big thanks everyone who reads the blog and a big hello to new readers! My favouritest part of this week was Vicky and Louis’s house warming party last weekend, i took lots of pictures…….
A Mini update on how Project Blankie’s coming along! Ive been so busy with other projects i’ve only had time to make a few squares since the last update, although im eagerly awaiting a few squares all the way from America!
I am pleased to present a new plush! He has been a work in progress for a couple of months and im very very happy to be adding him to the shop today! As with all my plush art the Chicken Dragon is unique and never to be repeated. He’s 10″ tall with solid glass eyes and sculpted face, teeny weeny translucent teeth, and is available in the A Little Stranger shop Edit: Sorry he’s now sold!
Had a brilliant long Easter Weekend, treated myself to a full 4 days off. Had a great time seeing friends, playing board games, making roast dinners, watching films, and generally having a lovely time. Unfortunately for Week In Pictures i managed to go to two drum & bass nights over the weekend and yet I only took pictures of toys and gardening – at 26 am I the worlds youngest old fart? Anyway, on with the pictures…
First off a big thank you to everyone who stopped by the new shop over the Easter Weekend, much much love for all the retweets and help promoting it too, i really appreciate it! Having got the shop up and running i’ve had some time to get back to what i love best, making toys! This little (well he’s actually kinda big!) will go on sale on Monday. I cant wait to share more pictures with you!

To celebrate the opening of the new A Little Stranger Shop I’ve added two new prints, White Monster and Tentacle Hair. Each is a large 16.5×11.5″ print each limited to 20 prints. Professionally printed, high quality giclee prints on archival acid-free matte heavyweight paper, using archival pigment inks.
New to the shop are Bobbins, Series I. Series I consists of four solid wood french knitting bobbins, each one has been handpainted in acrylic and then sealed with layers of protective gloss for a long lasting finish and shine. This idea has been in my head for quite some time, and i’m really pleased to add this new item to the new shop!
I’m posting my Week in Pictures a day early this week cause tomorrow i’m *finally* launching the new A Little Stranger shop! Its been a long crazy journey, lots of late nights behind the scenes getting it all up and running, but it’ll be online and starting off with an Easter weekend sale.
